Why Early Mornings Are Best for Automatic Writing
When I teach automatic writing to a group of people, the first question I almost always ask is, "Do you have a morning routine?"
Ideally, you want to get up while the rest of the world is still sleeping. This is what I call the "Holy Hour". That might mean getting up 30 minutes earlier. Or perhaps even earlier!
The reason for this is you get the deepest words of wisdom while the world is still asleep. When people around you are awake, your brain is awake. When people around you are asleep, your brain has an easier time staying somewhat "asleep." This is actually what we want!
When your brain is less active, you can drop down to your heart.
In my Automatic Writing program, I help you do just that.
If you cherish your sleep (like most people do), this might come as a shocker! You might feel like you're losing sleep.
What actually happens though, is the energy you get from automatic writing more than makes up for any lost sleep. Why? Because you feel better.
One of the leading causes for fatigue is stress. When you practice automatic writing, you de-stress. You tap into a source of calm and peace that seeps into the rest of your day. When you have less stress, you have more energy to spare.
Now, I'm not suggesting sleep deprivation. I still recommend aiming for 8 hours of sleep per night if at all possible. More on sleep in a bit...
Night-time Routine?
Everybody talks about morning routines, but your morning routine actually begins the night before!
If you struggle to get to sleep, work on an evening routine. This means having a set time to go to bed. (Yes, this means YOU, not just your kids!)
I even have my coaching clients set alarms to remind themselves to start getting ready for bed.
Getting to bed on time means you have a far greater chance of getting out of bed on time.
Baby step your way into earlier mornings
I can't emphasize this one enough. Baby step your way into getting up earlier. Don't jump from 7:30AM to 5:30AM. Do that and you've just given yourself jet-lag.
Instead, make a maximum of 15 minute adjustments every morning or even every-other morning. In less than a week, you're getting up 1 hour earlier than before!
And without any unnecessary suffering. What's this mean? If the new routine or habit is easy, you're more likely to continue!
So if you are currently getting up at 7:30AM. Tomorrow morning try getting up at 7:15AM. Next try 7:00AM.
So, make sure you're still getting a good night's sleep and don't become an automatic writing zombie! I want you energized throughout your day!

"Ever since I was a child, spirituality has always meant this ‘third party’ outside of me who holds all the power and all the answers, but through my journey I am starting to find that, in part, I am this, and automatic writing has served as my introductory course to this profound life lesson.
The purpose of automatic writing was not a way for me to get all the right answers from some mystical figure from up above. It is a way for me to get answers from deep within me, by shutting off the noise and understanding how I really feel."

"Automatic writing has given me guidance and reassurance in my personal and professional life. It grounds me and instructs me, cutting through my regular mind chatter. It offers up resources, wisdom and perspectives that I previously didn’t think were accessible to me. It’s been like being able to communicate with a wiser and more intuitive version of myself."
